Marcus Bryson

Bio

Coach Bryson begins his fifth year at Oakland High and his sixth campaign in high school coaching. He served one year at his alma mater, Shelbyville Central, before joining the OHS staff in 2020, assisting with football, track and wrestling. He has served as a defensive backs coach for the Patriots the last four years as well as assisting with special teams on state championship teams from 2020-22. Bryson earned his bachelor’s from Cumberland University in 2019, leading the Phoenix in receptions his senior year and posting 67 career catches with one touchdown in a run-heavy offense. He was named Academic All-Conference three times and earned national Scholar-Athlete honors as a junior and senior. He was also inducted into the National Football Foundation (Middle Tennessee chapter) Hall of Fame after his senior year. Bryson and his fiancé, Hannah Calvert, have two children, Mylo (son) and Muni (daughter).
