Josh Conner

Bio

Coach Conner enters his 12th season on the coaching staff at Oakland High, serving as the tight end and h-back coach for the third year after nine seasons working with wide receivers. During his tenure on the OHS staff, the Patriots have reached the state playoff semifinals in 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2019, were state runner-up in 2016 and 2023, and won state championships in 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2024. Conner played collegiately at Maryville College in Tennessee, starting for three years and earning all-conference honors as a senior. He began his coaching career at Sequoyah High School in Madisonville, Tenn., working with the offensive and defensive line for three years, and served on the staff at Maryville for three seasons, helping the Scots to conference championships in 2012 and 2013 and a berth in the NCAA Division III playoffs in 2013 before his arrival in Murfreesboro. Conner earned his bachelor’s in History from Maryville and received a master’s in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University-Irvine. He is married to the former Diana Pace, and the couple has one son, Nash.
